ACT 1
sound
Having taken my seat,
I immediately open my laptop and begin preparing my materials.
In this quiet hour of concentration,
I hear the gentle rhythm of my own fingers tapping on the keyboard—
the soft flutter of pages turning somewhere nearby,
and the faint echo of footsteps
as someone beside me rises and walks away,
their shoes softly tapping against the floor.
Each sound is small,
almost fragile,
yet strangely comforting.
How much time has passed, I wonder.
At last, when my studying is done,
I lean back in my chair
and stretch.
