ACT 2
sneeze
She stared at me with wide eyes, frozen, and then let out a little giggle.
Whether she was surprised that I had appeared or not, her tears had stopped before I knew it.
Maybe it was because I had shown up in a dusty attic, but my nose started to tickle.
The next moment, I let out a massive sneeze.
After the sneeze, our eyes no longer met. Then, she spoke.
“Where did you go?”
That’s right—I had turned back into an invisible man.
She looked around the room slowly as if searching for me, wandering cautiously through the space.
“I’m right here!” I said over and over, but as expected, my voice didn’t reach her.
In the meantime, I thought about why I had been able to turn back into a human.
As I sorted through my thoughts, I noticed a few things.
First, rubbing the button turned me back into a human.
Second, sneezing turned me into an invisible man.
I figured these two things were related.
I understood that rubbing the button made me human again, but why did sneezing make me invisible? Does sneezing itself make you invisible?
No, there’s no way it would be triggered by something so accidental. Then what was it? What was causing it?
I returned to the exact position I was in when I sneezed.
At that moment, it hit me. “That’s it!”
So that was it.
The breath from my sneeze had hit the button!
I had finally figured out how to transform from a human to an invisible man, and from an invisible man back to a human.
